One of the ethics principles is good conduct. This is seen from one of our representatives
who was nominated to be a member of the Committee of the Medical Council. Our represen
tative reports to the members of the Medical Association after each meeting regarding the Medical
Council's decisions such as rules and regulations which may affect members of the Medical Asso
ciation. If all our representatives are as effective and enough in number, they will convey our feeling,
thoughts, and problems of our profession more accurately. The past was a good lesson for us in that
we have mostly neglected the importance of the Medical Council which led to many existing pro
blems for us. For example, we have a letter from one of our senior members, who wrote:
Dear Dr. Aurchart,
I would like to convey moral support and express my appreciation to you as our represen
tative with "respect and respect ..... ". For thirty years I have been working as a medical officer in
the civil service and lately as a private doctor but you are the first Medical Council committee who
defends for our profession. Before, I assume that the Medical Council has only two roles, to inves
tigate the medical malpractice, to arrange the medical examinations and to approve the professional
specialized certificates.
I think the causes of problem in our medical society are :-
1. Doctors do not uphold the ethics and high moral standard of the medical profession.
2. Politics influence the spirit, rule, tradition, unity and seniority of the doctors.
Respectfully yours,
Siriraj 77
