In the past two years, our group has been working as a committee on teaching and learn ing ethics for medical students, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, (2000 and 2001). The progress can be noted as below :-
1. The Ethical Committee is appointed to created the faculty policy and strategy in order to encourage each department to diversify the teaching and learning procedure for ethics.
2. In each academic year, there is the curriculum in ethics, clearly organized and conti nuously evaluated.
3. More faculty members pay their attention and co-operation in teaching ethics.
4. The medical students are appraised and identified on their ethical knowledge and cautious manner on their behavior.
5. There is no drastic change concerning medical ethics on the resident training program of each department comparing to medical students.
6. The Ethical Committee of the Faculty for teaching and learning ethics, are always invited to participate both local and overseas conferences but they don't submit their formal report to the other committee, causing the lack of continuant and opportunity lost on idea sharing.
7. The Ethical Committee has set the faculty policy and action plan for the next 3-5 years, during 2002 to 2006 and set priority what we have to do first in order to optimize the proper resolu tion.
