Ethics in Research

Our team has had the opportunity to be the ethical committee for human research since 1998. We read the research draft of many institutes which provided medical services. Some research was internally initiated by such institutes but some works were multicenter studies, either local or foreign. A research draft made by the cooperation with foreign institutes is always furnished by Thai and foreign language memorandum. Drafts in foreign language are described clearly in details, especially in each academic step while drafts in Thai, either translated or new written, probably abandon the academic points, leave some important out, convey the different meaning from the foreign draft and impossibly notes the different numbers of participants. There is no ethical principle to appraise all of the research draft but we stand on patient's confidentiality, loyalty and fairness as our main principle, in consideration of the 2000 Helsinki Declaration. Is it necessary to fully encourage the researchers to conduct their researchs in Thailand with much relaxing on ethical issues?
