Abstract This prospective study covered a one year period between June 1994 and August 1995 and included 104 cases of teenage mothers and 98 control adult mothers. The purpose was to assess the short term biological impact on teenage mothers and their babies in Thailand hy comparing teenage mothers-age s.l8 years old and adult mothers-age 20-35 years old. The mean age of the teenage mothers and adult mothers was 16.75±0.97 and 26.67±2.88. The result demonstrated that there was no significant difference in the short term biological effect on mothers and their babies.
