Contlict of interest is often created when a researcher's professional judgment is bent due to financial gain, gifts, excessive travel grants and commercially motivated research funding from in- dustry. These factors may seriously affect the out- come, quality and validity of the research as well as patient's welfare. Researchers who fall pray to these temptations tend to loose the respect of their peers and institutions harboring them eventually also become loosers.
