Salmonella Neck Abscess

Salmonella neck abscesses have rarely been reported in the world literature. Two patients
with underlying diabetes mellitus developed deep neck abscesses which did not respond to
empirical antimicrobials. Diagnosis of salmonella infection was made by culture of the discharge.
Successful treatment was obtained by prescribing appropriate antibiotics and proper drainage.
